Privacy policy

Your files

To identify or convert a file, it is uploaded to our servers and processed there. Each upload is placed in its own isolated temporary workspace that only your download links can reach. Files, converted results and Drive Rescue jobs are deleted automatically 3 hours after upload, or earlier if processing fails. We do not open, read, index or analyse the content of your files beyond what the conversion itself requires, and we never use them for anything else.

No accounts

OldFileOpener has no user accounts. We do not ask for your name or email address to use the tools.

Technical data

Our web servers keep standard access logs (IP address, browser, pages requested, time) for security and abuse prevention. Logs are rotated and deleted routinely. We may use privacy-respecting, aggregated analytics to understand which tools and format pages are useful; these do not receive file names or contents.

Cookies

We set no advertising or tracking cookies. If analytics are enabled they use anonymised, cookie-less measurement wherever possible.

Third parties

Processing happens on infrastructure we operate. We do not sell or share uploaded files or personal data with third parties.

Your rights

Because files are deleted automatically and we hold no account data, there is normally nothing to request. If you believe we hold personal data about you, contact us and we will respond promptly.
